Based on indicia, Venom 250 is not part of All-New Venom. I think it should now form Venom, vol. 6
No, it’s a continuation/title change of All-New Venom. A new volume is used when it’s either a new #1 or when the title makes it harder to find (Incredible Hulk > Incredible Hercules).
I’ll put in my 2¢ and disagree with this answer, or at least say we’re already at the second reason. I’m only coming into Venom because of the current ASM crossover, and everything I’m dealing with is just Venom. Next issue there will be more issues of Venom than “All-New Venom” and anyone joining on is likely to be confused.
Also, other sites are separating this out into their own title pages leaving CLZ out of sync with others, which will just get more confusing as time goes on.
Yes, Covrprice, League of Comic Geeks, and MyComicShop have all stopped All-New at 10 and created new entries starting at 250.
The reason I gave is the most logical and consistent with how Core handled title changes in the past. Titles changing weren’t being done consistently in Core and this was an effort to do so. In my opinion, a new volume should only start with a new issue 1, having random continuous issues (#250-…) within a new volume makes things very confusing.
We had this separate (as Venom Vol. ) at first but people got confused so we moved it for the sake of consistency to All-New Venom. As it’s a similar title change of X-men to Uncanny X-Men. With this explanation we haven’t had any reports of people being confused.
Now due to some other titles changing as well, we are considering slitting them up again. But that’s only after all of the issues have been released. Changing issues within a series messes up peoples database, especially when you’re doing it halfway trough them releasing.
“Also, other sites are separating this out into their own title pages leaving CLZ out of sync with others, which will just get more confusing as time goes on.”
We don’t follow what other sources or sites do. Whatever works for their database structure doesn’t always works for ours or the the other way around.
