Core is showing this Gold Key 12c as 2 entries. These duplicates should be merged. The listing showing the front and back photo covers is correct.
There are 2 different 15c versions of #2, which I will be submitting to add to the core, shortly.
In addition, for creators, the following can be added: Artist: Nevio Zeccara and Writer: Dick Wood
Hi @bbailey861, the issues are listed as 2A, 2B, 2C and 2D and with this in mind I’m hesistant to simply merge any. Can you elaborate some more on why these should be merged? Thank you in advance.
The credits have been added. Thank you for reporting.
Hey, CLZ_Rowdy,
Absolutely.
Before I go into details, I should preface my response by saying that something that I did not do yesterday, but should have done, is to go into my collection and then go take a look to see if there were any additions or changes in the core that were not reflected in my CLZ list. I’m saying that because before I did that today, I also submitted two additions yesterday to be put into the core - but today I have seen that someone already did (2C and 2D) - and I don’t want to see anything I did bugger anything up. If I am able, I’d like to delete those 2 potential additions that I submitted yesterday. Mea culpa.
So to try to make things simple I will detail what exactly is known for ST GK #2s
There are 3 known different Gold Key Star Trek #2 comics that exist.
1 is the 12 cent cover photo cover with the ad back that was sold in the US (your 2A),
1 is the 15 cent CPV photo cover with the ad back cover (your 2C), and
1 is the 15 cent CPV photo cover with the photo back cover (your 2D)
There is no known(at least in the Star Trek comic community) 12 cent cover with the photo back cover (your 2B), so that is either an error or whoever uploaded that comic with the photo back cover has found a new one that is both extremely rare and also needs to be reported to a few people I know who are the ‘experts’ of Trek comics and websites can be updated.
So in essence, there are only 2A, 2B, and 2C comics - unless this mysterious comic is verified.
I have copies of each of the known issues and once everything has been sorted out, I will scan and upload any of the missing covers and add any other details that I can.
Also, from here on in, I will relook in the core to make sure what I have already uploaded is up to date. All I collect is Star Trek comics. I currently have 2700+ individual covers and it is my intent to try to update CLZ as best I can to make it the most complete Star Trek comic, parody comic, etc database in one spot that there is.
I will pause, however until this one is sorted out first.
Thank you for getting back to me. I’d like to be of any assistance I can wrt Trek comics.
Corrected, thank you for reporting.
