Hi guys,
I’ve been finding so many bogus trailers on the cloud and mobile app lately. I’ve been reporting them, but I could spend days doing this and you guys surely have better things to do so I’m not going to do this anymore. However, I’d like to make a couple of comments / suggestions.
I understand YouTube is volatile and constantly changing. So, there will always be updates needed. But the number of updates can greatly be reduced with a little more caution and prep when adding the initial trailer.
I try to follow these rules when I add or change a trailer link on my Movie Collector, and I rarely need to fix them later. Maybe these tips could be of some help.
Use trailers from the film’s studio if possible.
YouTube Movies & Rotten Tomatoes Classic Trailers are both good high quality trailer sources.
Use HD trailers when available.
Use Widescreen vs Fullscreen trailers when available.
Use Caution with “Official” trailers as many are Not Official but home made.
Avoid trailers with small numbers of subscribers / views They come and go a lot.
Don’t use “Movie Clips” as they are not trailers.
Don’t use “Fan Made” trailers. Read the description to be sure.
Don’t use “Age Restricted” trailers they force the user to log in to YouTube to view it.
Don’t use “Teaser” trailers.
Cheers
