I’d like to sort my LPs by Artist and then original release date. I’ve figured out how to do it but I’d like to sort my soundtracks (kept in a separate collection) by Album title. Is there currently a way to do this? When I change the sort order in one collection it changes it for them all.
Also, what is the difference between sorting by Artist then Original Year (desc) and Artist then Original Year (Asc)? They both include options for asc and desc so is this just redundant?
It is not possible to remember sorting per collection I’m afraid, so you have to switch sorting if you only want 1 sorting per collection.

The asc/desc options for those pertain to the artist… So:
Artist then Original Year (desc) > and then set to ASC will do artist asc, then Years desc
Artist then Original Year (desc) > and then set to DESC will do artist desc, then Years desc
Artist then Original Year (asc) > and then set to ASC will do artist asc, then Years asc
Artist then Original Year (asc) > and then set to DESC will do artist desc, then Years asc
