How to create a Box Set from Scratch

Hello,

I know how to add box sets by barcode, I know how to edit box sets and have watched all the help videos (I think!) but what about if a box set is not showing on the Core properly (I have just reported a show called “The Fast Show” as an example)

I tried this; I manually downloaded all the series in that box set (1-3) and for the first season I manually created a new box set called “The Fast Show” and added this field to each of the three seasons, and of course made sure they were all marked as “TV Shows”

The issue is that there is no way to create “the box” to put all these individual seasons into. I like to try to fix things myself instead of reporting. Am I missing a step?

I see you added a separate ENTRY and called it The Fast Show Collection.

That is not exactly how it works.

If you want to create your own box set, you need to:

  • add the loose “movies” separately yourself as loose entries
  • then EDIT those movie entries and fill in the BOX SET field of them.
  • Then later you can edit the box set and add a cover etc.

I’ve done it for you in your collection now, and I shot a video to show you what I did:

You probably want to remove that box set entry you created though.

This is fantastic and exactly what I was looing for! thanks for the video, it will come in handy for all the TV shows I have as single entries without the relevant seasons.

Awesome! If you still have that “loose entry” of the box set, you can probably remove that as it is not linked to those loose seasons.
