IMPORTANT: New rules for reporting missing comics!

Yes, that is the idea.

If it is a totally new issue that is not in Core yet, use “A”.
If there are variants already, just use the next free spot, but don’t worry about that too much, we will fix as needed.

@millerad76 I have matched and processed your reports. Thank you for submitting!

Another thing that would be helpful when submitting from core, is the ability to leave some notes/comments for whoever ends up doing the adding.

Sometimes I run into a series that I’m adding the issue I have, but there are other issues missing that I can note and then they can all get added at once.

Or other notes for the approver.

Is there a way to copy creators from one variant to another? To submit a new variant, I’ve been dong the following steps:

  • Adding the latest (or closest) variant of a particular book locally
  • Unlinking that variant from core
  • Updating the information for the new variant (including the new cover image)
  • Submitting my modified entry to core as the new variant

The problem is, when I unlink from core, it erases all of the creator information. Often times everything is identical except maybe the cover artist or variant description. That is often very frustrating, especially if a book has a lot of information. (I’d be quite happy if unlinking didn’t remove the creator data.)

Or do you want us to just update what is different, and then submit; relying on whoever processes the submission to copy all of the creator stuff from a previous variant? (Which is what I have been doing.)

(Honestly, a “Copy Creator” feature would have been nice in a few different instances… maybe we can add that as a new feature request!)

Thanks!

I will usually ‘Add’ and ‘Duplicate’ the closest variant to the book i’m adding. Then modify all the info on the duplicated copy including the next available variant in the run. Submit to core, then ‘Remove’ the original added variant from my list.
It’s definitely a bit time consuming.

This is especially the case when I’m trying to add a new issue to an established series. There is one issue of TV21 in Core, for instance. I have another I’m trying to add, but the mechanism insists I’m creating a new series.

How is it insisting on that?

I enter the details of my issue of TV21. I set up to Submit to Core. It says I’m uploading a new series and a new issue, when it’s not a new series.

That is probably because your Series entry is not linked to Core. Open that Series in the Manage Pick Lists screen and see if it has a Core Series ID.

It does not. That seems to be the problem. I’m not sure how an issue can already be in Core without one. How can that be fixed?

BTW, we’re now at a week after submitting comics to Core, without them being included yet. That’s fair enough, just letting people know. I gather the backlog has swiftly built up. Thanks!

We are talking about your local database, right?
Maybe you added that comic manually, BEFORE it was it Core?

We do not have a large backlog actually.
Can you point us to your submissions, so that we can check on them?

Sorry, I wasn’t being clear. The issue of TV21 already in Core isn’t one I own, and wasn’t put there by me. I’m trying to add my own issue (#66) to the one someone else put there (#40).

I’ve added that, Countdown (UK) #23, Countdown Annual 1973, Elsie Harris Picture Palace, Fascinating Folklore and the UK Knights of Pendragon tpb. Was there some error? Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

I have checked the Core reports and found one for “Knights Of Pendragon”. Processed. You also reported two missing UK series, added.
Tip for future submits: change your default CLZ user number to a vanity name. That way our content team recognizes your vanity name and spot them more easily in list.
You can change it to your forum name for example, that name has not been taken yet.

Login to your CLZ account via https://my.clz.com/ to change your user number to a vanity name. When done, don’t forget to login to your app/software with your changed account name.

Hi, just want to get this right - so there’s a new release, but the standard comic shop edition cover A doesn’t match even though barcode is the correct listing. Do we just overwrite the cover in the app and “submit to core”?

The current cover in “cover A” place actually already resides elsewhere in the listing as “homage cover”. So it won’t be lost.

Please just post about this on this forum. This sounds too complex to do through a Submit.

No definitely not. That would be processed as a CORRECTION for the existing entry!!!

I can see that you’ve done that for Countdown UK and its Annual, so many thanks for that, but there’s no sign of my four other submissions to core:

Elsie Harris Picture Palace.
Fascinating Folklore.
Knights of Pendragon tpb.
TV21 #66.

There are, of course, already several series of Knights of Pendragon in Core, but nothing for this tpb.

I’m happy for you to just work through the list of people who’ve submitted to Core, in date order. I don’t want to be picked out for special treatment just because I offer feedback here.

We DO like to give special treatment to people who actually engage with us about their submissions.

Hello, I noticed on my account that I have a username (which matches what I am posting with here) but I also have a “Name” under “Personal Details” which is just a number. I cannot seem to be able to change this. Is this what you are referencing in your comment and recommend we update? If so, how do we go about changing this number to a name?

@Rgraydonr to change your username you go here:

Then log in.
Then at the top next to your username, click on “MY ACCOUNT”

You can change your username there!

(please note that doing this you will also need to update your username in your CLZ Mobile app to reflect the change you just made there).

Can you give that a go?

I’ve tried using app submit feature, but when uploading the cover photo I receive the message “Uploading cover, please wait”
I let sit for 4 min without any completion.
I tried this on more than 1 cover.

However, i just uploaded here without issue. Sew next 2 attachments for reference.
