Improvement Request: Differential "In Collection" indicator

Hi,

Another request.
I’d like to get a possibility to easily spot if a game i’m checking is an upgrade or not.

A few examples:
1: I’ve added a condition to all my disk based games in the collection. this is to more easily spot if i need to replace the copy in my collection or not.
It would be good if we could tag a game as “To be replaced/upgraded” and that if you scan such a game, it would indicate it somehow.

2: Let’s say i got a platinum version of a certain game. today if i were to scan the “black label” version of the game it would indicate that i already got it. However. for my collection i’d rather upgrade from Platinum to Black Label. Same can be true if i scan a game with various “Editions” i might want to collect every edition.
Would it be possible to differentiate between game variants?

Below is just a suggestion:
Blue: Identical Copy Already in your collection (Same edition, possibly same barcode)
Purple: Same Game, but Different Edition
Yellow: In collection but status “Loose”
Any indicator: for games tagged to be replaced.

Will complicate things quite a lot. but will make life easier for me at least.

Edit: Added an indicator for “to be replaced”

I’m not sure, it seems very specific for your situation in this case, but I do see where you’re coming from.

You can create a custom field, but it will never show when adding.

We could show more information about the game you already have. That is parked somewhere on the ideas list I believe.

This would probably be enough for me.
Show the “edition” and “Completeness” fields when indicating if you got it or not.

I also agree that it might be related to me specifically. but i also think that many collectors would make use of it if the possibility is there.
Upgrading from Platinum, Classics, etc to a proper release is generally the way i do it.

Also, i’ve been “forced” to use 2 separate collections to avoid skipping games that i own, but from the “wrong” region.

Let’s say i got Mega Man 2 for NTSC NES, but then i scan a PAL NES version, today it would indicate that i already got it. but in my opinion it should be treated as it’s own game.
