Index Numbering

Hi All,

I went to reassign index numbers and came across what looks to be a bug. I have 6 collections, which will at some point will be combined, and when I reassign the index numbers multiple numbers are duplicated across some of the collections. I have tried changing the parameters of the reassignment but it doesn’t fix it.

My concern is that when I combine the collections I’ll see two, or three, of some index numbers.

Thanks for any insight.

Phil

p.s. Is there a way to start the counting from a specific number, like it was possible to do in the desktop version?

  • Re-assign index number works “per collection” in the Web version.

  • Adding a new album will look at the highest number checked over “all collections”.

Do you actually use index numbers for something?

(there is no way to start counting from a specific number in CLZ Music Web)

Thanks, @CLZ_AJ.

You have answered my questions. So no bug.

No, I don’t actually use index numbers. Is there any reason to still have them, then?

Phil

Well, some users use them, so it is useful for them to have this - but the index numbers don’t “do” anything for your collection. You can just ignore them, have them be.. whatever
