ISBN-10 / ISBN-13

Sorry, I read your post wrong.

Indeed, if you have an ISBN-10 filled in, and you search that ISBN-10, you can not find it.

Did this work before the fix from last week?

I’ve written it up as a bug, but we might not be able to fasttrack this the way we did the other bug.

What you can do though, is use Update from Core, and then skip all fields, but set ISBN to replace, to get the right ISBN.
Note that this will only work for books that are linked with Core.

As I remember, yes it worked.

I’ve written it up as a bug…

Thanks. It is interesting that the CLZ Scanner app find it with ocr if I tap the “Cancel direct mode”

I will do that, thank you for the ISBN 13 fix!

Expected, to be honest.

Direct mode scans it directly into your local search box.

The queue mode adds it to your “Add Books screen” in the queue, so that one does a search in our online database for that book.

I don’t recommend using that for books you already added, because they will then get sent to your Add Books screen.

Hmm… It seems to be “Link to Core” don’t recognize ISBN 10 too (after it can not find by title). I must manually convert ISBN 10 to ISBN 13 to find the exact book and link it. Is there any other faster way to do it? For example ISBN 9630257920 was one of it. There are several books what can be found only by convert manually the ISBN 10 to ISBN 13 and copy it to the search bar.

Link to Core for a single book indeed doesn’t accept ISBN 10, nor ISBN 13.

That is only meant to link by title. My apologies for the confusion.

The Batch Link screen does search ISBN 10 and 13:

  • Click menu top left,
  • then click “import/export”
  • then click Link Books

that screen shows all unlinked books and that search should do the ISBN 10/13 conversion good when searching Core.

The Batch Link screen

That is what I didn’t remember where can I find! Thank you very much for your help!

Just wanted to let you know @OldShatterhand:

This should now also be fixed. If you had ISBN-10 filled in, searching ISBN-10 in your local database can now also find it

Can you give it a go and let me know?

Hi, yes, I can confirm it works perfectly! Nice work :+1:

Awesome, happy to hear that! Thanks for letting me know.

And errrm, if you have that mobile app:

I was wondering, would you be willing to post a nice star rating for the CLZ Books app in the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store?

It only takes a few seconds and would help us tremendously!
(in the App/Play Store, apps with more ratings get listed better in the search results)

Here’s how to post your rating for CLZ Books:

On iOS:

On Android:

Thanks in advance!
