Issues for Reading History on mobile app

I’ve been playing around with the new Reading History functionality and I’ve noticed a couple of things:

  1. On the iPadOS version (iOS version 17.7.10) when you create a new reading event I can’t change the Reading Status from whatever the default is. If I click on the dropdown, it doesn’t bring up the picklist values.
  2. The reading history section on the Details panel isn’t visible for me by default on either iOS or Android versions. It will become visible if you click on the eye at the top, but then it also automatically adds a new reading event!

I’ve tested syncing with the desktop version, and that seems to work ok; it sets the Reading Date on the Personal tab to the most recent reading date from the mobile version, which makes sense. It would be nice if the ‘Times Read’ was also updated to the number of read events in the mobile version, but I suspect that would go beyond the ‘keeping the desktop version ticking over’ intention.
(My guess would be that the mobile version still updates the ‘legacy’ read date field, even though it’s no longer displayed, which would mean that the ‘sync’ function for the desktop version doesn’t need to be changed?)

Anyway, those couple of things aside, it’s all looking pretty good, and is really helpful!

I would like to add that the multiple reading events I put in web, don’t show up in the mobile app. The mobile app still counts only one read event (the last).

From the What’s New:

Have you been already been using the Read History feature in the CLZ Books Web software?

In that case you can get that the Read History data from CLZ Books Web to your mobile app. Here’s how:

1. Make sure you have version 10.6 on your mobile device
On your CLZ Books Mobile app, make sure you have version 10.6 installed (check the version by tapping the menu top left, then look at the version number at the top!)

2. Use “Update all from CLZ Cloud” to download your Read History from CLZ Books Web

  1. Tap the menu top left, then tap “Maintenance”
  2. Tap “Update all from CLZ Cloud” and continue.
  3. Wait for the sync to finish.. and done!

Indeed, this is a bug, thanks for reporting, we’ll work on a fix.

The reading history table only shows if you have 2 or more read events for a book.

Yeah that field never made it to web either, so I’m afraid we can’t do anything here.. sorry about that.

It’s v10.6 but I updated today and the appstore doesn’t have a newer version than 10.6.1.

So waiting it is, until the apple store has 10.7.

Thank you for the fast reply

Sorry, it should be 10.6 indeed. Will fix that.

But: the instructions are the same.

  1. Use “Update all from CLZ Cloud” to download your Read History from CLZ Books Web

Tap the menu top left, then tap “Maintenance”
Tap “Update all from CLZ Cloud” and continue.
Wait for the sync to finish.. and done!

Ah, ok. Yep, just tested that and it works fine!

I didn’t think so, but I thought it was worth asking :slightly_smiling_face:

Great! Yeah we figured showing an entire table would be.. a bit too much for users who only read a book once, and only keep track of read events for themselves
