I let my subscription to Comic Collector expire in 2023 and I just renewed it today. I did a check for update and its still on the same version 23.7 build 3. Is this app no longer being developed and if so did I just waste my money renewing the subscription?
First, the subscription payment is not only for updates, but mostly for being able to use the software and its Cloud and Core online services.
But you are right, the Comic Collector software is no longer being developed.
We have stopped the development of the legacy Collector desktop software quite a while ago (early 2023).
There will not be any feature updates anymore, but we may still do maintenance/compatibility updates when absolutely necessary.
Our complete focus is on the CLZ Web web-based software and of course the CLZ mobile apps.
For use on your computer, the CLZ Web software is the way to go and we are recommending all desktop users to switch to the web-based software ASAP.
Since the new CLZ.com website, the legacy Collector desktop software has been removed from the site and is not available for new users anymore. Existing users can still renew your desktop software, by LOGGING IN to the CLZ Shop at https://shop.clz.com.

Let me know if you have further questions,
If I were to switch over to CLZ web and I stopped paying for it, wouldn’t i lose access to my entire collection?
No, why would you? The data would still be in the CLZ Cloud.
Because thats the business model of almost every other web app out there.
So just to clarify, even without an active subscription, i can still login to CLZ Web and view & edit my collection or is it frozen at the time my sub ends.
View, yes, through the CLZ Cloud site.
Edit, NO. That requires an actual subscription.
