Some series are duplicated / split up?
Sometimes you may find that some series folders have duplicated, with their comics list split up between two separate folders for the same series.
This may happen when different comics in our Core had slightly different spellings of the series name.
Luckily, this duplicate series problem can be resolved easily by merging the entries through the Manage Pick Lists screen.
To open that screen, click menu Edit, then choose Manage Pick Lists.
On the left side, click “series”. That will show you your complete author list, with Sort Names, Display Names and more.
Now:
- Find the duplicate series using the search box top right
- Select the duplicate series (hold CTRL/CMD and click them)
- Finally, right click on the selection and go to “Merge Selected To”, and select the series entry you want to merge to, that is, the one you want to keep.
( in most cases, that would be the one that lists the most comics )
I’ve found that this happens to me when I update the Series name for some issues but not others. When the Series name updates, it resets the Sortname to the same thing as the Series name.
So to fix, you just have to look at the Series name/Sort Name combo for each and set the two fields to the same thing for both items on the list.
