I cleared my cloud database by mistake and now when I sync with cloud my own preferred backdrops aren’t uploading!
Why is that?? I’d rather have the ones I picked myself than the ones in Core.
The Core backdrops are absolutely awful.
How can I fix this?
now when I sync with cloud my own preferred backdrops aren’t uploading!
I’m not sure I follow because backdrops have never synced through CLZ Cloud.
But if you only cleared your Cloud, your local copy still has your own backdrops right? (which means nothing is different right now than before you cleared your cloud).
The Core backdrops are absolutely awful.
We never hear that, I’m curious what you are seeing.
Can you give me some examples so we can look into that?
Hi AJ
I’ll try to explain…
I just finished a week of free trial on your clz web.
While I was in the trial I synced with the cloud and instead of having my
own backdrops the ones in Core ( I guess) came up in my clz account.
How do I get my own picked backdrops back???
I’ve cleared my cloud twice now and it doesn’t repopulate with my backdrops.
It did before I did the web trial.
Do I have to redo my whole database??
Try … Dragons: Gift of the night Fury also:
Silence of the lambs
The Godfather trilogy
21 bridges
A bridge too far … etc
As I said, my own personal opinion.
Yours are awful. I’m probably more picky than most people
but, the movie database has some excellent backdrops on it’s site
that are heaps better than yours. ( My personal opinion )
But I spent a lot of time looking for better backdrops online and
I’d like them in my cloud account.
Also, most of my series and box set entries have no backdrops at all.
Or if they do there’re all the same.
I spent a lot of time looking for better backdrops online and
I’d like them in my cloud account.
Probably not very clear, but it’s the best I can do at the moment.
Alright, thank you for explaining. I will let a content manager look at those to see if we can spot problems.
“It did before I did the web trial.”
I still don’t understand this.
Are you saying you saw your chosen backdrops in Cloud, instead of the ones in Core?
Because: that field just does not sync at all, never has, and probably never will.
Look, all I want is my chosen backdrops to come up in the cloud!!
When I added a movie manually by barcode I’d add it to collector and edit
just about everything, especially my own images.
They used to be there, when I checked my cloud.
Now they aren’t. I’d like to know why???
Also what I have to do to fix the problem.
Because, for me, it is a problem.
Like I said, I spent hours looking for backdrops that I like
and adding them to my images file.
They don’t upload ( bad choice of words) but they did appear
in my cloud after I changed the backdrop image in my collector and in my image file.
How do I fix this???
@Bosum
I’m trying to tell you that “personal” backdrops have never ever synced with Cloud.
So what you are saying, that your backdrops, your chosen backdrops were in cloud before: It is not possible. They were never in Cloud, ever before. So I’m trying to find out if you may be confused with some different field or something.
IMPORTANT:
The Cloud backdrops have always been the Core version.. Meaning that if we change a backdrop in Core, it automatically changed in Cloud too.
Your trial of Web did not change anything here, it is impossible, the code simply does not exist.
You still have them locally on your Windows version, right?
Yes, I understand what your trying to say.
I know the backdrops don’t sync with cloud ( bad choice of words to try to explain) … but … when I add my movies to collector manually ( I learnt early on never to add them from Core ) I could see
all my chosen images in cloud.
What I’d like to know is why then, do quite a few of my movies now not have any backdrops as well as almost all don’t have the backdrops I’ve chosen?
If syncing with cloud follows the path of the images in my images folder then surely my backdrops should then come up??
I also have clz mobile android which syncs with the cloud too and to change the backdrops in that I have to go into the data files, find the backdrops file and change them individually in there.
And yes, I have the backdrop images locally on Windows.
What I don’t understand is why my database seems to have changed and what did I do wrong???
I should also say I have 568 movies, so I have the same amount of front and back covers, but, I only have 553 backdrops in my mobile app files, where last week I had 568.
-
Backdrops do not sync, never have.
-
But, our content team also uses TMDB (as well as other websites) to source backdrops. So you MIGHT HAVE seen “your chosen backdrop” at some point on Cloud, because WE also chose that one from TMDB! But if we ever pick a different backdrop in Core at some point later in time, then the backdrop on Cloud will instantly change too.
-
Backdrops do not sync. Do not upload. Do nothing. If you change them locally, they only change locally it does nothing with Cloud, ever. Never has either.
-
Locally on your computer your backdrops are still there, so that is all good.
-
In Cloud you will always see our backdrops for any movie that is linked with Core.
-
On Android, it seems you’ve found some hack/workaround to add your own backdrop images (that sounds very scary though, if you ever change phones, this will probably break. Or not. No guarantees. Or if we change the inner workings of the details screen, it might break.
What I’d like to know is why then, do quite a few of my movies now not have any backdrops as well as almost all don’t have the backdrops I’ve chosen?
Different backdrops:
- We have a team of content managers working on our movie database every day, backdrops do change in Core, and then they also change in the Cloud of users. Could that be what you are seeing?
No backdrops:
- Could it be those movies are simply not linked to Core? You will get no backdrop if the movie is not linked to Core. To investigate please give me an example movie in your Cloud.
As for the amount of backdrops in your mobile app, that is something I’m hesitant to say anything about because (or even try to support) you’re fiddling with files there that is not something that the user should be changing stuff.
OK, the following is a list of movies (mostly boxset’s) that curiously are
missing backdrops that were there last week but seem to have vanished from core…???
Dragons: Race to The Edge 2 - 9317731149528
Tom & Jerry Volume 1 - 9325336018538
Boxset’s ( which I added as individual movies)
Class Action / Runaway Jury - 9321337047621
How To Train Your Dragon 1 & 2 - 9321337156910
Hitch / The Pursuit of Happyness - 9317731053597
Stuart Little / Stuart Little 2 / Stuart Little 3 - 9317731029455
The Mummy / The Mummy Returns / The Scorpion King - 5050582566482
All up 14 movies that now don’t have backdrops.
Could someone please add some backdrops to your database for those movies please?
Dragons: Race to The Edge 2 had a bad backdrop, which we now fixed.
Tom and Jerry is a box set in our Core, and we generally do not add backdrops to box sets. So when added as a single entry box set, this one does not get (and never had) a backdrop in Core, or your Cloud.
The other box sets that you added as individual movies:
When I check for example your Hitch / The Pursuit of Happyness box set, I see that the Core Movie ID is that of the box set, and not of the individual movies.
The box set IDs never have backdrops (or well, most of the time they do not, as we always set them for the individual movies).
So that box set (same as the other ones) never ever had backdrops in your cloud. They did not go missing. They were never there.
This looks like a problem with how you added them. The normal, correct way of adding a box set as 2 loose movies is as follows:
When you add Hitch / The Pursuit of Happyness via barcode 9317731053597, and you click “Add box set as 2 movies to Collection”, it grabs the right Core Movie IDs for both, and they both get backdrops.
To fix this problem, what you can do is:
- Find the movie Hitch in your collection
- Right click it and UNLINK it
- Right click it and LINK it to the right entry in Core.
- Do the same for “The Pursuit of Happyness”.
No need to use Update from Core when asked.
- Now sync wih CLZ Cloud
- Now those two movies have their correct backdrop from Core.
Tom & Jerry Classic Collection Vol 1 - 9325336018538 is in fact a stand alone movie with 12 episodes.
Interestingly I had Martin fix this one a couple of years ago and he added a very nice backdrop.
I also had him fix most of the other boxset’s as well.
In any case I’ll try the fix you’ve suggested.[
