Hello,
I recently bought a licence to the latest version of Movie Collector. I then accepted the “trade” deal for CLZ Cloud - It’s really great! and it’s so much easier and faster to manage my collection, I was a little hesitant in the beginning (creature of old habits and all that!) Anyway I digress!
So I have a grandfathered version of Movie collector 8.3 build 2 (I suppose that’s like saying I have windows xp ) I tried to start it today on my windows 10 machine. I tried to sync my collection by “downloading from connect” but it returns this error: “Error Occurred: Request-URI Too Large”
Also, when i try to register the software with my original licence key and licence name it tells me that “There was a problem connecting to the Collectorz.com server on the internet” with a load of information about letting the software through my firewall etc (that is not the issue, it’ s not blocked) it finally ends with the same error message as when I tried to sync - “Error Occurred: Request-URI Too Large”
So why do I want to use the Movie Collector for Windows If I am so happy with CLZ Movies Web? well, unfortunately, my internet service provider is as a reliable as a bad bus service, and often I have no internet sometimes for 2-3 days while “The engineers are trying their best to resolve the issue” I have CLZ on mobile but if the WIFI is down I don’t really want to use mobile data, plus my smart phone is not so smart anymore So, I thought I could use my faithful Movie Collector software in such cases - it was working just fine before I upgraded, then once I “traded in” my licence for CLZ Movies Web the Movie Collector told me I don’t have a licence for the new version so I logged in to my online account and downloaded the 8.3 version installed it and here we are.
Sorry for this long post, Is there something we can do so I can use Movie Collector as a backup option for when the internet is down?
