New Boxset Editing

Greetings:

When using the new Boxset editing features I have found the Store will not save. The Purchase Date and Price save correctly. When I enter the Store, it takes me back to the screen.

However, when I edit and add the Store on the Web, it will Sync and Save correctly on the mobile.

Further review finds the Release Date Year only (Mobile) disappears when the changes are made on the web entry and synced.

Just an FYI

Hi @JUnderwood

When using the new Boxset editing features I have found the Store will not save. The Purchase Date and Price save correctly. When I enter the Store, it takes me back to the screen.

What do you mean with "it takes me back to the screen?

I’m not able to reproduce this. I’m using an Android:

  • I tap a movie in a box set
  • I tap “change order of movies” at the top of the details panel.
  • I tap “Details”
  • I enter a new store (or tap an existing one)
  • I hit OK
  • I now see the Store for the box set in my details

What am I doing differently from you?

Further review finds the Release Date Year only (Mobile) disappears when the changes are made on the web entry and synced.

This is indeed a bug, we’re working on a fix!

This part of your bugreport has now been fixed. Can you give it a go?

For this one:

I have noticed that a developer option can cause the problems you are having.
Do you happen to have the developer option called “Don’t keep activities” enabled? (this is an Android setting)

Navigate to the Settings app, choose ‘Developer options’ and scroll almost all the way down to find the “Don’t keep activities” option.

Make sure it is disabled, then try again?

Good morning,

The vanishing Release Date Year is resolved. Thank you much.

For the Store adding issue -

The Developer Option is turned off.

On the Android, if I work strictly on the CLZ Mobile, I select a Boxset. Then Select a movie (doesn’t matter which place in the list I select- 1st, 2nd etc… listed). I select Personal Tab to make note of the information needed (Date, Store, & Cost). Return8ng to the Main Screen I select Box Set. I input the Price, Purchase Date, and Store. When I input the Store it takes me back to the Main Screen immediately. None of the fields I added are saved. The same thing happens if I only update the Store too. Right back to the Main Screen

However, when I edit the Box Set on the CLZ Web, the same fields (Purchase Date, Price, and Store) and save the data then do a Sync from my Android, the fields have saved on the Box Set.

That’s it in a nutshell. Any guidance ??

@JUnderwood thanks for checking your developer options. Sorry to hear it didn’t fix the issue (or had anything to do with it for you).

Can you show me the non-saving in a video please?

Here’s how you can make a screen recording on your Android device:

  1. Swipe down twice from the top of your screen.
  2. Tap “Screen record”.

If “Screen record” is not there, you might need to swipe right to find it. If it’s not there, tap “Edit” and drag “Screen record” to your Quick Settings.

  1. Choose what you want to record and tap Start. The recording begins after the countdown.
  2. To stop recording, swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the “Screen recorder” notification.

You can find the files in the Photos app in Library > Movies.
You can send me the file(s) via:

When I input the Store it takes me back to the Main Screen immediately.

This sounds like the app is crashing by the way (it restarts the app immediately to main screen). Could be that.

If so, a bug report should be somewhere there.

Use the following steps to generate a bug report:

————————————————————————
Unlock Developer options
————————————————————————

  1. Go to your Android’s settings screen.
  2. Tap “About” (or something similar)
  3. Somewhere in your “About” screen there should be a button “Build Number”. If you can’t find it, please check your phone’s user manual, (tip: a Google search is probably faster)
  4. Now Tap “Build Number” a total of 7 times.
  5. Navigate to the Settings app, choose ‘Developer options’ and enable ‘USB debugging’

Reproduce Crash and send us the report.
————————————————————————

  1. Go into your CLZ mobile app and reproduce the error you’re getting.
  2. After the error, navigate to the Settings app on your device as soon as possible and choose ‘Developer options’
  3. Tap ‘Take bug report’
  4. Tap ‘Report’
  5. Wait, it could take a couple of minutes for this process to complete. You will not see a progress bar during this time.
  6. You will get a notification at the top of your screen telling you the report has been captured.
  7. Open the notification and tap “Touch to share Report”
  8. E-Mail the report to our e-mail address contact@clz.com

Both requests (Bug Report and Screen Recording) forearded.

Found it!

The problem only happens if you do it like so:

  • edit a single movie
  • tap the pencil button in front of the box set
  • enter purchase store
  • it immediately closes - which is bad,
  • and it doesn’t save the chosen purchase store - which is also bad

We’ll work on a fix.

For now: workaround:

  • tap on a movie that is part of a box set
  • tap on “change order of movies” at the top of the details panel. (so don’t do “edit movie”)
  • tap “details”
  • change the store
  • tap “OK”

Thanks for helping me find the problem!

Interesting workaround. Thanks much. I also noticed the Watched Where count is now working.

@JUnderwood this should now be fixed in version 10.1, can you give it another try?
