Unfortunately there has been no change. Still showing same situation as before !?
I have also just noticed that when I go to the Reading Status Folder, and select “Reading”, it lists the 1st book (“The Imitation of Christ”), but in the centre panel it is now marked as read:Yes. I am fairly certain that was not the case before. Is this correct??, because if I understand it right, you previously mentioned to me that “The status has to be “Finished” for a read event to mark the book as “read: yes”.”
Please note that in my first reply today I meant to say that “there has been no change. Still showing same situation as before”
@berend well, I jumped the gun, we fixed loads of things, and this one got missed. We’re looking into your old report and the new report now. Both are confirmed bugs. I will reply back here when we’ve fixed them.
@berend another set of fixes was just released for CLZ Books Web. Both issues should be resolved now, can you give it another look and let me know?
I can confirm that the 2nd issue regarding the Reading Status Folder now appears to have been resolved.
However…the other issue that we have been looking at for some time is still unresolved. I will try to explain what I am seeing in my database this morning, because it is getting rather confusing.
In the previous attachment I sent you, the Read/Author Folder showed 71 books not read, and the central panel showed a total of 72 books not read and 72 books were listed. The book “Imitation of Christ” is included in the list. Thus, one book more in the central list than in the folder.
The file attached now shows the status as at today. (Please note that the number of books in my database have changed over the last weeks or so, so the numbers are different from previous attachment. However, I have not changed the 1st listed book “The Imitation of Christ” by a’Kempis. This still has the Reading Status of “Reading” for the purpose of testing this issue).
You will note that the attachment now has the Read/Author Folder showing 68 books not read, and the central panel showing a total of 67 books not read and 67 books listed. The “Imitation of Christ” is not included in the list. Thus, one book less in the central list than in the folder!
In the case of books read the reverse applies.
Welp. I see. I’ve sent it back to the development team to check out. I’m really sorry it’s taking so long on this particular one. You can keep using the software as it is just a display problem right now - the data is safe of course.
I will be back in touch once this gets fixed. Well, once we think it is fixed ![]()
@berend can you try one more time…? We’ve fixed another issue, and when I check your collection it seems to be good now!
Yes, it appears to be OK now!! Well done!
Thanks for your patience.
I have now come across a different, but seemingly related, issue, already to do with the Reading Status: Reading.
Today, I started reading a book which I had already finished reading once before. So for this book I added a new Reading Event with the Reading Status: Reading. I saved it, refreshed the main screen, and opened the Read/Author Folder to check that there was no problem.
What I found now is that the Folder shows total books of 1287 made up of
Hopefully this is just another Display problem.
I’m going to be carefully saying this is intentional. Because your book is now in both statuses, it is both read: yes, and read: no, as it has 2 read events.
This is intentional (but do correct me if I’m missing your point).
Say you have 1 book in your database, and have these 2 authors:
Author 1: Pietje
Author 2: Hansje
(I’m so creative with Dutch names right)
Then foldergroup by author…
The book will appear in both the Pietje author folder as well as the Hansje folder. The total of the folder contents would be “2” even though you only have 1 book in your collection. But you shouldn’t calculate the total based on contents of the folders. The folders just show you "how many books have “this status” or “this author”.
Does that make sense? (it has always worked like that for all folders by the way, like Genre, Subject, all of them).
Yes, that does make sense now. Thank you for your clear explanation.
