New in CLZ Comics Web: “Hide Owned” toggle on Add by Series tab

This was added to the mobile app a while ago, but never made it to the Web version yet. But now it’s available for web too!

In the Add Comics by Series screen, you can now hide all issues that you already own, so that you can focus on your missing issues more easily.

Click the “Box” button at the top to “Hide Owned” comics, click it again to show all issues again.

Add’l suggestion - hide owned (all variants).

What would that do exactly?

So currently if I go to Action Comics and tell it to hide all of the books I already own, it’s only hiding the Newsstand or Direct variant, whichever one I happen to own. But the other one is still there. I have no intention of getting both versions, so only hiding one or the other isn’t accomplishing anything for me.

But if you can hide all variants of all books that I own, now you’ve really narrowed it down to something useful for me.

To put it another way, I have no intention of buying variants of books that I already own, so unless you hide those variants, this does me no good.

I know some people do collect variants, so it would be good to have it work both ways.

Ah yes, that is something we talked about a while ago.

For instance, this is my BRZRKR series, for which I own all 12 issues.
In this screenshot, I have it set to Hide Owned and Hide Variants:

But it still shows 8A and 9A, because I don’t own the A variants of those :frowning:

Didn’t see the hide variants button, but still not necessarily working for me.

I have all of the books here, I just have the newsstand edition, which I guess is “B”. So hiding owned and variants is still showing me books I own (some version of).

Yes, exactly, that is what I confirmed with my BRZRKRs example above: the combination of Hide Owned and Hide Variants does not work as expected.

@glennsimpson we’ve just released a new version of CLZ Comics Web that will also hide books you have another version of if you use “Hide Variants” and “Hide Owned” together.

Can you give it a try see if you like it?
