New user to Collectorz Books but a registered user of Movies & Music from many years ago so please be gentle with me. :crazy_face:

First off big thanks to Alwin & Co for some fantastic apps! :+1: Much appreciated.

These may have been asked/answered before or it could be as a new user I haven’t got to grips with everything yet but I have a couple or three questions if I may please?

I did search the forum before I started this post but didn’t see any definitive response.

  1. How to check for Duplicates? I don’t see any way of checking for duplicate books in the app.

  2. How to mark loan books in/out? When I used to use other cataloguing programs back in the day (thinking DVDProfiler here) there was an easy way to mark a disc as a loan and the ability to set a time limit to the loan before it was marked as overdue. This would be really handy as I do have some books out on loan to friends. Is there a way to manage loans in the app please?

  3. How to consolidate catalogue numbers to remove any gaps? I have 363 books currently in my collection but along the way there have been some removals for various reasons so the latest book has been assigned #368 taking into account the few that have been removed. Is there a way to automatically consolidate the book numbers to run consecutively with no gaps and reflect the correct number of books please?

It’s interesting that in reading your post, all 3 things you’re looking for are currently not features CLZ Books Mobile.

However, all 3 are available in our web-app CLZ Books Web.

CLZ Books Web: when you sync in CLZ Books Mobile, it will just put all your books in CLZ Books Web as well. Syncs up/down, everything.

  • You can use “Find Duplicates” there.

  • You can loan items and have a loan manager there too (loan information does sync to the mobile app)

  • Consolodating catalogue numbers. I’m assuming this is about the field “INDEX”. If you don’t actually use the index field I would recommend just going into settings and “not show index” (settings is found in the menu top left). “Re-assign index numbers” is available in CLZ Web - but again, if you don’t actually use it you should just not view it.
