Notes field (tab Personal) is being displayed rather small

Hi,

Question about the Notes field in the Personal tab.
The Notes field is showing rather small, even on a 27” monitor.
When adding many Notes it takes a lot of scrolling without any really overview.

Feature request: is it possible to expand the Notes field (separate box etc.)?

I’ve put your feature request on our ideas list. Maybe we can just have a little expand corner bottom right so you can just drag it bigger when you need it!

Thank you.

What would be an example of what you put in Notes if I may ask?

Hallo Alwin,
Dat zou erg handig zijn!

Thanks for sharing. I will take note here (pun intended)

I see you even have a Notes field within those notes!

We are working on a new feature for CLZ Web called β€œCustom Fields” where you would be able to create like your own checkbox list (for companies), and more.

Looks like that might be something you would be interested in too if I see this

Hi,

Indeed custom fields and check box lists would be very useful for recording studios etc!

Hi,

Any news about the feature to expand the Notes field as suggested in this thread?

Kind regards,

Dick

No, it’s just a feature request at this point.

Have you been playing with custom fields already? I mean, must be a much better solution than a big slab of notes text anyway!

Hi,

Yes, I tried Custom Fields.
For example; I was looking at a multi-value pick list for recording studios, hoping that it would be possible to store an URL for each studioname. But that’'s not possible.
Furthermore there is no way to import a CSV list of known recording studios in the Details tab, field Studio.
So now I use the Links tab for registering Recording Studios and the corresponding URL.

Note:
Of course it’s possible to use a Custom Field for Notes, but imo it doesn’t make any difference to the Notes field in the Personal tab.
For more overview I would have to make more Custom Notes fields for notes about Companies, Credits, Barcode and Other Identifiers etc. (splitting Notes in several Custom Fields).
Sounds like a lot of work.
Expanding the Notes field in the Personal Tab would do the trick for me.

Kind regards,
Dick

Well, for a database it would make a lot of sense to have specific fields for specific data so you can foldergroup on these fields and quickly find albums based on that data.

But if you just want flat text, then yeah Notes is better. I can’t promise this will happen, making it bigger though, sorry.
