We use the Index as a unique identifier for all comics in our filing system. At current, we add a JSON object to Personal→Notes in order to expose the Index value to search. The process to do this is ugly and time consuming when simply being able to search for an Index seems like an easy (low hanging fruit) add.
I have also tried creating a custom field “SIndex” and using the Maintenance→Transfer Field utility to populate SIndex with the value of Index. It seems that custom fields are not searchable either; not that this would have been an ideal solution.
Why can’t I just search the on the Index field value?
Searching on custom field values would be nice too!
Index might happen at some point to be searched. Not sure about comic, almost no one uses this field in comic. We’ll see, no promises.
Custom Fields only “Text” and “Text Area” are searchable fields. You can try and use those.
