Reformatting computer

In the coming weeks I’ll be reformating my computer and installing the latest version of windows. With the desktop version of the program, do I need to back up my database before deleting everything? If so, how do I go about backing up my collection?

If you want to make a backup, here’s how:

If you’re moving from one Windows computer to Windows computer, these are the instructions (they might provide useful)

Thank you!!

I followed your instructions and just go my computer back the other day. I reinstalled the program and synced with the cloud to restore my database. The last entries I made are there, so is it necessary to copy over the database files?

Hm, so you synced on the new computer.

That should be okay, but, if you used “User Defined Fields” then those won’t have come over. Those don’t sync through CLZ Cloud.
Same as “content” in comic entries (there is a content tab)

Does that ring a bell?

I would recommend to thoroughly check your database, if you’re happy with it, just keep using it as such.

I don’t think I’ve used any user defined fields. I just add issues to the database and include an estimated value of each comic.

Well then I think you’re good to go and that it is not needed to copy over the database files!

Excellent. The responses are much appreciated.
