When I went to Movie Collector, I discovered that the movie release year on some 9,000 of my movies has disappeared from my Movie Collector list view. These dates were all there yesterday. And they are all on Movie Connect, just as they were!
When I go to the preview window, which shows the movie cover, etc., the release dates are all there, and they are on the Edit screen “Movie Release Date,” all as before.
Al of the release dates show up on Movie CONNECT. I resized all the columns and the release dates never show up. The release dates were all there in Movie COLLECTOR and just suddenly disappeared. I have 9000+ films/series that are now showing no release dates.
I just added volumes 1 and 2 of the old “Bat Masterson” TV series. Movie COLLECTOR shows no release date for Season 1. Movie CONNECT shows a release date of 1958, which is correct. Movie COLLECTOR shows a release date for Season 2 as 2012, which is wrong. The correct release date is 1959, which is what shows in Movie CONNECT. For both volumes, the correct release dates of 1958 and 1959 both clearly show in the Details panel.
Problem solved! I did not realize that on Movie COLLECTOR, there are 2 Release Date settings in each movie’s edit screens: “MOVIE RELEASE DATE” on the Edit page, and “RELEASE DATE” on the Format page. (On Movie CONNECT, which I have been using lately, there is only one option, “RELEASE DATE.”) When setting up my Columns for the List view, I somehow selected the RELEASE DATE and not the MOVIE RELEASE DATE, which prevented me from seeing all the release dates for all my movies. I’m not sure how this happened, but clearly it did. The problem is now solved! Thank you!
