I have thousands move movies and tv shows in my database. Most are digital, but part of my collection is physical media. I am upgrading my media server and trying to do an inventory of my collection. Is there a way to provide perform a search based on a list of movies or tv shows.
My plan is to make a list of the digital files and hardware media and compare it to what is in Movie Collector.
If I understand you correctly, you have a list of Digital files, and you want to match that list with what is is Movie Collector.
There is no built-in functionality to do that. What I would suggest you do is Export the data from MvC into a CSV file (File | Export To | Text), selecting the fields you wish to match on, and any others that you need to help with the task. Then load this file and your other list into a spreadsheet (Excel, LibreOffice Calc or whatever) and do the comparison there.
