Lately, I’ve been finding myself flipping back and forth between Movie Collector and CLZ Movies Web. Clearly you’ve put a lot of work into the latter, making it (to me) an increasingly appealing option. May I share with you two things that are personally holding me back from switching over to CLZ Movie Web:
First and most importantly, the inability to make emendations to episode lists of existing disks (like TV series) and to create episode lists where your database doesn’t have them (and issue that is not uncommon with very old series). I have added to and made a lot of changes in episode lists in Movie Collector that don’t show up on CLZ Movie Web. I know you’ve mentioned this for some time as a possible feature for Movie Web, but are you any closer to making this happen? I can’t speak for other Movie Collector users, but it would certainly ease my own transition to Movie Web if all the work I have done could be transferred over.
Secondly, while Movie Web is a handsome app, it’s frustrating that it the type face and line spacing don’t enable me to see more on a screen page at a time. For example, in Movie Web, I can generally see about 15 movies on a screen; in Movie Collector, I can see 30. Granted, this may be different based on screen resolutions used by individual users, but the inability to set typeface size (even if would be set as small, medium or large) would allow more information to be seen at one time. Similarly, the list on the left of the screen which shows list of genres or formats shows 30 or so lines in Movie Collector, but only half that in Movie Web. To me, the option to change type face and line spacing to suit my own resolution would give me a fuller page that would be wonderful to have.
With all that, I thank you for your splendid products. They enable me to enjoy my movie collecting hobby that much more, and for that, I am truly appreciative.
