I have a few book series in my collection where each book has different author/authors. I need to sort them by their correct number in the series even if my main collection is sorted by author. What is the best way to do this?
Sort by series first, then Volume or Issue.
Make this one of your favorite sort setting.
Also make one for Author.
Switch between them as you need through the day while using the program.
It is not possible to Sort your books by author, and then “if a book has a series, then ignore all authors and just sort by series” - that is just not an exception the program can make I’m afraid.
Thank you for your answer. I have just one follow up question: Is it possible to define a main author or editor for the book series and exclude the other authors from sorting?
I’m afraid it’s not possible to have a main author (unless you maybe put the “other authors” as a Credit?
I found out that it always sorts after the first author. So if you put the same author in the first spot, the books should be sorted under this one.
