Wondering if there has been any discussion about a drill down from the statistics view. Whenever i see a number on the right it would be nice to be able to click to an album overview for those related to that statistic. I’m a new user and tried to click and it didn’t do that.
We’ve discussed this in the past actually, but tapping on an album via statistics well, we could make it “open the details view” of that album, but then the next thing you’d perhaps want to edit the album from there, and go back to statistics, meaning statistics would have to refresh - it might be something that can become confusing really quickly, so we’ve decided that the statistics screen for now will just show statistics as such.
Can I ask which statistic you were looking at? Because most stats you can also just foldergroup your collection in the main screen and find out more, or use the A-Z sorting button in the main screen to sort.
For my understanding i would like to know how the statistics are updated then. Is this a scheduled task or triggered by an insert or update trigger? And if the statistics are stored in separate stats-tables i understand that this will not work because the sub-context is most likely not stored.
There is no “updating of statistics in a table”. The stats are just loaded when the stats screen is opened. Meaning that the album you pick from your statistic list, and if you were to edit it then, when you come back, it could be gone from that statistics view if the stat change. It’s just something that might become confusing REALLY quick to start allowing drilling deeper, editing, etc. via statistics - when you have perfectly good tools to do all that in the main screen.
Which I can’t explain if I don’t know which statistics you want to “drill down on”.
Ok, i understand. It was just me trying to click on the horizontal barcharts to see which albums where related. The view could be readonly in my opinion. But i get your points.
