After I updated the software to v10.0.1 on my iPad, it optimized my database and then got stuck on a “Loading” dialog with the old Collectorz.com logo. I let it sit, thinking it was doing something in the background. I came back a couple hours later and it was still stuck there though, so I killed the app and restarted it. When it came up, it seemed fine. So, I did a sync and that succeeded. I poked around on the app and everything seemed okay. I didn’t noticed any data missing. So, I’m not sure if the hangup caused any issues or not, but thought I’d report it.
Hi Jonathan, that sounds like a big conversion (the app needed to migrate your database to work with all those new fields we added!).
If the app started up later, it means the migration worked, and you are good to go!
I have 3,420 videos in my collection. I suppose that probably qualifies as a lot. ![]()
Well, yes, I do think that is a lot!
But then earlier today I was helping someone with.. I think 23.000 movies in their collection hah!
Oh, wow! 23,000 is quite a lot!
Interestingly though, I didn’t run into this issue when I upgraded on my iPhone. I should probably mention that my iPad is an older model. So, maybe that had something to do with it?
Yes, the migration takes up a pretty considerable amount of processing power.
Years back we had like 10 or 15 people each update that has a migration with huge databases that… well, it didn’t go through. But it seems most users are no diligently updating their mobile devices, as Apple and Google want you to ![]()
So now we almost get no hanging migration anymore ![]()
