I have been downloading a 5 hr radio program for the past 15 years with playlists going back as far as 1997. When I enter these into collectorz, I have each hour as a separate track with the songs during that hour as sub-tracks, as each hour is one mp3 file. Unfortunately, the sub-tracks do not show up in the cloud.
I’ve tried using headers for each hour and then list the songs as tracks, but then there isn’t a way to put in the running time for each hour, as you can’t edit the time in the header.
Ideally, it would be nice if we could get the sub-tracks to show in the cloud. Is that a possibility in a future update?
Currently we do not plan to add subtracks to CLZ Music Mobile/Web (which means they also won’t be in Cloud).
I will take note of your request, but it is unlikely that if we do add this, we will make it so it can sync - we would likely be able to build a one time import from Music Collector to CLZ Music Web so you could then have your subtracks there - but even so: that would mean you don’t have the MP3 files as Web doesn’t do links to local music files.
By the way: The headers should calculate the total time of the regular tracks that are placed inside them. Does that not work for you? (the tracks need to be “inside” the header)
AJ can provide a definitive answer, but in the meantime I would say that I made a great deal of use of Track information in the Windows program, but most of this was lost in Cloud/Mobile so I restructured my data.
Therre is minimal Track information stored in Web/Cloud /Mobile, and as far as I know the policy is to keep it that way. I think the chance of getting sub-tracks is about zero.
Additionally, there will be no updates to the Windows products. For User-defined fields, for example, there will be no syncing of these fields, but the plan is to provide a one-time export to assist in Moving from Windows to Web.
My view is that you are probably out of luck with sub-tracks. One suggestion would be to list the songs with start times in the Notes field at the Album level.

No, No, No! The headers calculate the total time of the tracks just fine. It’s just that each hour is one mp3 file for all the songs of that hour and I can’t put the time of that file into the header.
What I have decided to do is go with the headers with tracks for each song. In the first song of each hour is where I’ll place the time. Eventually, when I have time, I do plan on breaking down each hour into it’s separate tracks for each song. Then I can put the times in where they belong.
Thank you for your response and here’s wishing you and everyone at CLZ a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Sounds like a lot of work, but if it makes you happy then that’s great
If the radio show is 5 hours long, would it not just be a good idea to just have 5 tracks called hour 1, hour 2, etc. ? - or are you splitting up into segments per hour as well?
C’mon now, that was the reason for my original question. That’s what I wanted and then to list each song as a sub-track for each hour, but the sub-tracks don’t show in the cloud which is why I’m going with headers and then listing the songs as tracks.
Oh pff, the songs that are played during the radio hour. Alright gotcha.
Wish we had eggnog here, I’ve always seen it in movies, but I can’t seem to get it at any stores. And my try of making it myself last year didn’t work out too good, heheh.
