I have “Download subjects” (and genres) deselected in settings.
When I add a book to our collection, subjects are being added that I didn’t enter during the addition process. It doesn’t add genres, just subjects.
Why is this happening? Am I misunderstanding what deselecting that option means?

And let me know if you Add books via your mobile app indeed? Just via add books?

I add books via the mobile app using the “+” button at the bottom of the screen. Mostly on my Pixel 8, but it happens on my Android tablet as well

I can now reproduce this issue on my side. I’ve reported the bug to the development team so we can work on a fix.
My apologies for the temporary inconvenience caused!
Sorry it has taken so long to fix this, but it should work correctly now. Please double check your settings, toggle it on/off, and then see if the subjects stop downloading.
(It seems to just have been a display issue of the toggle, where it did work, just not on first installs, and only if you toggled it on/off once - but we fixed it correctly now anyway)
