Subtitles and Audio Tracks improvements

Even though I am missing a couple features in Web, I find the Web version so much better already then the Desktop version. Loading windows is much faster, so making small changes is also much faster compared to Desktop.

I spend relatively the most time on the Edition Specs, compared to the other fields. The 2 fields I am focusing on now are: Audio Tracks and Subtitles.

Audio Tracks
I find the Web version better than the Desktop version. In the Desktop version I am constantly scrolling up and down to find the correct Audio Tracks. Between almost 400 entries it costs a lot of time on desktop. On the Web I use the search to find the correct values. Works pretty good. Maybe new feedback when I have more experience with Audio Tracks on Web.

However, there are some problems in here.

1. I cannot use my keyboard to select items in the Audio Tracks popup.

After I filtered on 5.1 for example:

I cannot select any of the entries below with by keyboard (to prevent RSI as much as possible). Even if I select an Audio Track and use my arrow keys it is selecting another movie on the background instead of selecting the next entry in the Audio Tracks popup (bug, I can report it seperatly).

Even with this limitation it already works faster then the Desktop version.

Subtitles
For subtitles the Desktop currently works better. What I do on desktop is:
use my keyboard to select items. With spacebar I select them and by typing I search the next one. So I type “Du” to scroll to “Dutch” and “L”, arrow down to get to Latvian. And then hit space to select it. Works very fast.

2. I cannot use my keyboard to select items in the Subtitles popup.
Similar as with Audio Tracks. I can search, select, search again, select again, but it is not efficient to enter specs. If there is only 1 subtitle on the disc it doesn’t matter. But sometimes there are a lot of subtitles.

3. Improvement can be made I you add Auto complete
In the Edit screen it self:

I can already type in the Subtitles but it does not auto complete. If I type in the whole name of the language. For example: Dutch, it is selecting the right value:

So if you could make an auto complete in the edit screen itself, you can add Subtitles really quickly. For other field like Distributor, auto complete already works great.

We will think about adding arrow keys for selection, and then perhaps “space” for checkboxing. Thank you for your suggestion, sounds like a logical thing to do.

As for autocomplete for multi fields (ones that have checkboxes), I have this on our feature request list indeed.
