Suggestion for tv episodes

Hi, long time user, speaking as someone who does database programming for a living, your apps are nothing short of fantastic! I do have a suggestion for the movies mobile app, specifically for tv shows. I collect alot of tv shows, both on dvd/Blu-ray, and files. IMHO, the info available for the episodes (besides the title), specifically the watched and viewing date, are useless to me as a collector. I actually use the watched flag to signify that I own the episode. To me (and I know not everyone may agree with this), viewing date means nothing to me as a collector. I have many cases where within a show season, the episodes could be on different disks, or in a folder on a drive (for the files). I currently keep this breakdown in the notes field at the show-season level, but it is tedious. For myself, if viewing date was changed to be a small free form field, I can log this info at the episode level. Or, perhaps it can be added , so the viewing date is still there for people who like it. Just food for thought, I know nothing happens immediately, but maybe something to kick around…

It sounds like you’re looking to have more fields to fill in per episode. When the episodes were overhauled and custom episodes were made possible, we decided to not include the plot field for episodes. We’ve had several requests for this, and plot field for episodes might happen. Maybe that will also be the time a notes field could be added per episode, or even add a way to “create custom fields” for episode levels (although that was pretty confusing on how that worked on the old Windows version, so that needs some more thought).

I see where you’re coming from, and I’ve taken note of your suggestion (well, a bit more in my own words as described above :slight_smile: )

Thanks for quick response. Just small note, whereas I would love to have the episode summaries, I realize that might be a bridge too far. Adding a small freeform field would be enough for this ask.
