I have a few suggestions to make the web app better.
1) Instead of having a box set function and then having to add each individual book, list the box set as the main title and then have a sub-menu to add each book title/author (that will show up on the search function). This works for anthologies too. It also allows you to enter your box set cost and keeps your stats correct.
2) Change the number sort feature to not have to have a leading zero, when you have half editions (04.5 vs. 4.5) - it looks cleaner.
- Allow more than one series to link to the book. Numerous authors have sub-series in a set universe, and I don’t want to have to jump to their website all the time to get the proper reading order.
I honestly prefer how LibraryThing allows you to enter the book and it pulls all the information, allows you to custom the screen on the stuff you don’t want, links all the books for you to the series (including short stories) - but I don’t use it because anyone and everyone changes series titles/book numbers - it’s like Wikipedia for books.

- Not sure about that one. We have something like that on the old desktop software, and it never was very popular. That’s why it was not introduce in the Web or Mobile versions (yet). Maybe one day.
- Sorry, I don’t understand that one. Can you show me the problem with a screenshot?
- Yes, that is something we hear more often. I would not expect this to be a common occurence (a book belonging in multiple series), but apparently it is?
On the first point, I’m fine with boxed sets as-is, but would love to see functionality to add short stories to an anthology (other than all the work to re-add the thousands of stories I’ve already cataloged in a separate library)
On the third point, it is fairly common in Sci-Fi and Fantasy, where you have one series encompassing all the books within a setting, and then shorter series within the larger one.
When you sort by volume number in a series, if you have them listed at 1, 2, 3, ect. 10-19 will sort after 1, 20-29 will sort after 2. If you want it to sort properly, you have to enter the numbers like 01,02, 03 ect. When you have half numbers, like 4.4 or 4.5, you have to enter it as 04.4 or 04.5 to sort correctly. In my opinion, that looks wrong and tedious. Not having the leading zero makes it look cleaner.
Ah I see what you mean now. Yes, the Volume is a text field, so it sorts alphabetically. Sorry, I do not have a solution for this now.
Perhaps use the Issue field instead of Volume. But it does not seem to like decimals so may not work either.
As an aside I never figured out why series wasn’t just a Number field, since issue seams more appropriate to magazines, etc. and volume to encyclopedias, etc.
