Hello!
I have used Music Collector for Windows in the past and am now thinking of adding CLZ Music Mobile.
But I have a question first.
My collection is divided into „E-Musik“ (classical) and „U-Musik“ (rock, jazz, singer-songwriter).
Sorting and displaying these two divisions requires completely different sorting criteria.
To synchronize CLZ Music Mobile with the Windows version, is it better to synchronize with 1 database or will 2 be synchronized without any problems?
I would be reluctant to part with the local Windows version.
I hope my request is clear enough. My English is no longer sufficient, which is why I am resorting to a translation with Deepl.
You can only sync ONE database file to the CLZ Cloud.
If you have multiple database files, then the solution is to first merge the databases into one database file with multiple collections. Here’s how:
Open one of your database files.
Then use File > Import from > Other Database to import your other database files, one by one. For each one, you will get a popup asking you if you wish to import the database as a separate collection. Answer YES to that.
Now you should have one database file, with multiple collections as tabs at the bottom of the screen.
You can use File / Manage Collection to rename your collections if you want.
After this, you can sync all collections to the CLZ Cloud. In the CLZ Cloud site they will appears as tabs at the bottom too.
TIP: to do a clean sync, you want to CLEAR your CLZ Cloud first. Here’s how:
LOG IN using your CLZ Account (this is important, don’t skip this step!).
Click the menu icon top left and under TOOLS, choose “Clear Database”.
Now start your Collector desktop software and synchronize with the CLZ Cloud.

As for sorting, you can just create more sort “preferences” but you have to switch to the correct sorting you wish to use per collection (sorting is not remembered per subcollection, but rather remembered in the program itself).
Thank you very much for the explanation.
I will try to apply this when I have purchased the latest versions.
2 additional questions:
Can I follow the path with an updated Music Collector for Windows or is CLZ Music Web necessary?
In the store I see the “Recommended bundle” only with CLZ Music Web and CLZ Music Mobile. Is there no such bundle with Music Collector for Windows?
Thanks for your feedback!
Kind regards
Bernd Heinrich
