The grade once you have scanned the comic

So here is my dilemma: I have quite an extensive collection and absolutely love the app combined with CovrPrice but I’ve got an issue that I haven’t figured out how to fix yet, and I’m going to try and explain it the best I can.

So when initially scanning or entering the book the app will assign a grade to the book. I am pretty anal about how my books are graded, and am pretty good at gauging its grade. Here is the bottom line . Is there a way, once the book is scanned that you can manually change its assigned grade where CovrPrice will actually accept its grade and assign a price accordingly?

I know you can change the number grade but that won’t change the CovrPrice assigned price, and god.knows I would love to send all my books to get graded, but I don’t have the money to do that. Who does?

Here is an example: I just bought a mint Amazing Sprider-Man 600 1:25 which I know is only like a $30 book, but when I scanned it in CLZ automatically assigned it as FN when that’s not the case and I want that changed to NM so I can see the price reflected like it should be. I don’t mind scanning it again if there is a way to do it on the front end, but I have a ton of books CLZ has done this to so doing it on the back end once it has been scanned would be preferred.

Thanks for any help you guys can give. I am using the CLZ app on an iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 18.2 public beta.

You can definitely modify a grade and get a fresh value based on your new grade for an existing comic in your collection.

Here’s how:

  • tap on a comic and tap edit.
  • now go to the value tab and change the grade to whatever you like.

That’s first. And then:

  • You can now either just tap that little “refresh” button in the CovrPrice Value field to get a new value…
    or:
  • You can just save the item, then go back to main screen, then tap the menu top left, and tap on Update Values (you can get fresh values for all your comics every day!).

Is that what you’re looking for?

(and if the Add Comics screen gives you an “automatic” grade when adding, you might wanna double check your Pre-Fill settings from the menu top left… Maybe you’ve set “pre-fill” to a certain grade when adding?)

I am quite confused about this. CLZ does not automatically assign grading at all.

Perhaps he set/forgot a Pre-fill setting?
