Hi,
I am along time user of Music Collectorz. Am quite pleased with the program and single install on my PC. Now this is in the MOL phase of life. Sadly but ISWIS.
My question is:
–if one upgrades to CLZ Music Mobile & CLZ Music Web will I be able to maintain my local DB using the Collectorz software while utilizing the benefits of the updated CLZ apps?
–Will the three apps/programs remain in sync going forward?
I would say EOL phase, not MOL.
Well, yeah, you could. But if you do it that way, there is little point.
The idea is that you actually switch over to using the Web version and stop using the legacy desktop software.
–Will the three apps/programs remain in sync going forward?
Yes, by syncing through the CLZ Cloud.
But again, I would recommend using the Mobile and Web versions only.
Hi Alwin,
Thanks for the reply.
I am a bit hesitant to ‘go cloud’ totally here in America. We are experiencing data breeches and outages that do not make the news/headlines but make me leery of basing much in the cloud. I trust my NAS to be available and know it will not be breeched or interrupted if the main hose is disconnected.
I do very much like the collectorz software but have issues with the internet structure here. From pricing to uptime to security to the possible changes possible in the coming month.
Thanks for your advice and input. Appreciate it.
Hi Alwin,
Another data point on this topic. It is Saturday afternoon local time (Ohio, USA). There is a MAJOR football game on now (American football) that has crashed the local internet. After calling the ISP the estimate is tomorrow sometime for it to be up and running.
While my ISP states connection is available 99.9% of the time overall, in any local drop (into my home for instance) that is not a promise.
Anyway, that is the backstory.
My problem today is that with out the internet I am unable to talk to the CLZ DB and my Collector crashes whenever I try to open a record. This is a large collection (John Mayall - The First Generation 1964-1975) but it crashes every time I try to add it to my collection.
Without connection to the internet, I am unable to use the app. I am able to use my phone as it uses cellular when the ISP is down.
Just thought I would add this to the discussion.
Hope all is well.
If you don’t have a reliable internet connection, then maybe CLZ Web is not the way to go. No discussion needed
