Trouble adding comics after update

I’ve been trying to add comics to my already existing set of Fantastic Four, Vol. 1 comics. When I select the right series, it shows the correct comics that I have and shows the link to missing comics. That gives me this pop up box where it shows the missing comics and the link to ‘open in add comics’

That brings to this screen

which is smaller than what you used before (it used to almost fill the whole screen). I scroll down to the first one I need to add, and then to check, I scroll down to the end of the list and all the missing comics are there. I scroll back up to the one I want to start with and start entering them. I start at 339 and get to 341 and then the list changes to numbers earlier than 341.

If I click on the list button and then back to the pattern button the screen refreshes itself and I can start entering from 342 and after a few more, it repeats the same pattern. This makes it totally unwieldy to try to add the comics. Figuring I’d at least add those, I click the add button and it goes to the entry for a completely different series.

This all started happening after I hit the UPDATE button in the CLZ Comics app. Please fix or tell me what I’m doing wrong so I can continue adding my comics. Thanks.

Looks like you have some sort of scroll problem/refresh problem. Are you saying that while you’re checking off comics to add it then scrolls your list in the add screen to some random place in the list?

Can you try just tapping the Add button and see if the problem happens there too if you just search for a series via the regular add button (and NOT missing comics?).

Can you also VIDEO the problem for me? Here’s how you can make a screen recording on your iOS device:

  1. Go to Settings > Control Center, then tap + next to Screen Recording.
  2. Open Control Center (swipe down), tap the “Record” button, then wait for the three-second countdown.
  3. To stop recording, tap the red status bar at the top of the screen, then tap “Stop”.

You can send me the file(s) via:

Lastly: your Pre-Fill comics screen is completely filled with all kinds of information that will be added to ALL comics you are adding. I’m pretty sure you don’t want ALL comics you add to always have “Incredible Hulk '97” in the title field?

I recommend to tap the menu top left and tap Pre-fill settings and seriously scale down the amount of fields you want to pre-fill with data when you add comics because all those orange texts are overwriting whatever comes from Core.

This applies to using the missing comics method. After clicking the missing comics link, the list shows up fine. I’ve scrolled to the bottom and all the issues seem to be there. Then, say, I start adding issues from some place in the middle of the list. I can click on several issues and then a list of issues starting with a lower number shows up. I notice now that if I scroll through those, the issues that I left off clicking will then start again so I can keep clicking on them. So I guess I can actually add them this way; I just have to scroll through the repeated numbers to get to where i left off and can continue. It doesn’t seem to be happening twice in the same list.

Yes, that seems to work fine.

I don’t seem to have a “Control Center” option in the Settings Menu.

Are you using an actual iPad? If so, I meant the Settings app on iPad. Not “our CLZ Comics Settings” menu! With that in mind, could you show me this in a video?

But you also mentioned you’re “clicking” - are you using the CLZ Comics mobile app on a macOS computer?

If so; here’s how to create a video on a macOS computer:
You can record your screen via this website:
https://screenpal.com/

You can send me the file(s) via:

Yes, my mistake - I found it ok on my ipad settings.
Yes, I’m using an actual ipad.
I’ve sent you the video.
By ‘clicking’ I meant the standard hit the screen lightly with your finger.
Thanks

Thanks for the video. We’ll look into it and once I know more I’ll get back to you. For now the workaround would be to just tap the “add button” when you’re in a series and use the regular add screen. My apologies for the inconvenience caused.

@DougS46sf this was a hard one to catch, but I think we’ve found and fixed the bug in version 10.7.2 for iOS, which is live now.

Your app may have updated itself already (check the menu top left, the version number is at the top).

If it hasn’t updated itself yet, here’s how to force the update:

on iOS:

  1. On your device, open the App Store app.
  2. Search “CLZ” and select your CLZ app.
  3. Tap “Update” to update the app.

Can you please let me know if that worked or not? And if the problem is now gone?

I updated the app and tried the add using missing comics method on three separate series and am happy to say all is well. Thanks so much for fixing this. Were you able to repeat the problem?

Good to hear that worked out Doug!
Yes, in the end we were able to repeat the problem - and your video helped a lot.

I was wondering, would you be willing to post a nice review for the CLZ Comics app in the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store? (If you’ve already done this, feel free to update what you have already  )
It only takes a minute and would help us tremendously!
(in the App/Play Store, apps with more reviews and ratings get listed better in the search results)

Here’s how to post your review for CLZ Comics:

  1. On your phone or tablet, tap one of the links below to open the App Store entry:
  1. Scroll down to the “Rate this app” / “Ratings & Reviews” section
  2. Then tap “Write a review”.

Thanks in advance!

Done!
