Feel like an idiot here as it must be something simple I am missing! I am new to editing entries in the Web version (coming from Windows Desktop version). I am trying to submit a better cover, back cover and a few blank fields (like page count). Also trying to change the format from comic to Omnibus Hardcover). Of course changing all these things in my DB was simple but I was trying to share this to the Core. I hit “submit to core” and instead of presenting me with the form to add/edit stuff it says at the top that I am “adding a new issue”. I’m not trying to do that I am just trying to fix/add to the existing core entry for HC-B. What am I doing wrong?
User suggestion: On the main menu on the left side of the main screen, head over to the Import/Export section and click on the Link Comics option. This will give you a list of comics that are in your collection that are not in Core. See if maybe this book needs to be linked first, and then try the correction again.
Just checked…that one is not listed here. There are some I need to get after though!
This happens if you changed the issue number, variant letter or barcode.
Then the system automatically unlinks your submitted entry, treating it as a NEW entry.
Looks like we have the variant letter as “B”, while you are submitting it as “HC-B”.
OK…leave it to me to find a weird one! I changed that value to match and it still does the same thing! So I then deleted the entry from my DB and added the existing one in from Core. I made the following changes
Format - Omnibus hardcover
Age: Bronze
Cover: better front…new Back
Hit submit and it still gives me the New Issue thing
We have checked and there was a bug here in the Submit system.
If you try again now, it should handle it as a correction to the existing entry.
Thanks! I got it all in now.
