Will the new custom field feature allow one to create one master search tool for multiple folders?
Can you explain what you would like to do exactly?
Certain field types will allow you to group on them indeed, or create your own multi-level foldergrouping as you can already do right now with the existing fields.
Foldergrouping on for instance a pick list field, will allow you to filter down via “Search as you type” box above the folder list. (same as you do now if you Foldergroup on Author, you can type in the searchbox above the folders to filter down to your author).
Only the “text” fields will be included in the regular search top right in your app.
Does that explain/answer your question?
I have 2,087 books categorized within 25 folders based on content (US history, world history, presidents, science, and such). I thought I would be able to make one merged list of all books once inventoried, but learned not, except with an excel or such program I do not know how to use. I am not very computer literate and like the CLZ (have movies and books) app. I was thinking that if I could go through the 2,087 books and give them one common factor or filter I would be able to have one list. I’m finding it difficult to navigate the 25 categories that I made, when looking to see if/where I have a certain book. Maybe I can already do that and just haven’t figured out how!?!
