Hi.
I may have taken this up before.
Due to how value seems to be calculated i see some strange values in my collection.
Example:
As you can see, the “Loose + Box” and “Loose + Manual” both are higher valued than a CiB which does not make a lot of sense.
I assume the calculation is done as mentioned in the text (Loose game + Box)
However i think it would be better to calculate differently.
Loose + Box: CiB Value - Manual Value
Loose + Manual: CiB Value - Box Value.
Pricecharting tracks values for manuals and boxes separately.
Those values are probably not too reliable as there probably are not that many sales to base the value on. Also, separate sales for manuals and boxes could be quite high, as people may have a need for them.
So yes, the Loose + Box and Loose + Manual values are probably way too high.
But doing it the other way around (CIB minus the manual value) probably would make them way too low.
Not sure if this can be improved on, based on the PriceCharting data.
I do agree that it would be hard to pinpoint the correct calculation.
Maybe make it an toggle? to do either way?
If both ways are wrong, I don’t think we should make it into a toggle.
