Plot (four stories reprinted from the USA Weird Science #16 - EC Comics version
Down to Earth - A wave of mysterious aircraft crashes forces the government to ground all air travel. A scientist discovers the cause: extraterrestrials are deliberately sabotaging human aviation to prevent Earth from advancing to space travel. Before he can present his findings, aliens arrive and eliminate him, suppressing the truth and keeping humanity confined to Earth.
Space-Borne! - Newlyweds Lon and Enid embark on a honeymoon in space. After Enid develops a medical condition that prevents further interplanetary travel, the couple settles on a remote world. When Lon later encounters and kills a strange alien creature, he learns a horrifying truth about its identity, leading to one of EC’s trademark ironic and tragic endings.
Given the Heir! - A man desperate to become wealthy is visited by a descendant from the future. Together they devise a time-travel scheme involving murder and inheritance. Like many EC stories, their seemingly perfect plan unravels through an unexpected twist and poetic justice.
The People’s Choice! - A satirical futuristic tale examining democracy, public opinion, and political leadership in a highly advanced society. The story concludes with an ironic commentary on the dangers of blindly following popular sentiment.
