It looks like it resized to mobile size… with this format you see less results at a time and need to scroll more.
Why? No reason really, probably just a bug in the new Add Comics screen that just went live (earlier today).
Each tab now has its own “window width” and it looks like the Issue tab is narrower than necessary.
Will get that fixed ASAP.
Glad to hear it was a bug and not a new feature… thanks!
So, I’m back… clicking the title pops up Confirm your selection, not sure why we need that. Then you need to click Add to Collection and the old dialog box pops up where you need to click Add to Collection again… what’s the point of the new step to confirm your selection?
That popup replaces the Preview panel that was on the right side of the screen in the previous version. It lets you preview the data for the issue you are going to add, to confirm it is the right one.
So in the previous version:
- you clicked on a comic
- that comic’s details appeared on the right
- then you click on the Add to Collection button on the bottom right
- the Pre-fill screen appears
- you click the Add to Collection button of the Pre-fill screen
Now in the new version:
- you clicked on a comic
- that comic’s details appear in the Confirm sheet that slide is
- then you click on the Add to Collection button in the Confirm sheet
- the Pre-fill screen appears
- you click the Add to Collection button of the Pre-fill screen
Exactly the same number of steps and clicks.
It feels like an unnecessary change for something that was working fine… also the screenshot below is at 100% view (not zoomed in or out) on my browser. Most of the information is cutoff in the dialog box now and you need to scroll to see it. Before the pane on the right had a larger space to show the details. I could at least see key information on the old pane without scrolling.
Why would we spend 3 months working on an unnecessary change?
The Preview Panel on the right was replaced by the small confirm popup, so that:
- on the Issue Tab, you have more horizontal space to see more issue
- on the Series Tab, you can now have the series and issue list next to each other, in two panels, resulting in a much nicer UI. No more back and forth clicking, no more slow sliding panels.
The new setup with the small Confirm sheet has many advantages and make everything smoother and snappier.
Two message ago, you found the whole popup unnecessary and asked us “why we need it”
I thought the old pane that was on the right worked just fine, without scrolling I could see enough information about the comic and add it to my collection. I don’t feel the NEW pop-up did anything to make the app easier to use. Just feedback from a paying user, not taking a swipe at you or your team so don’t take it that way.
I already explained why the removal of the preview panel enabled us to create a much better UI for the Series tab.
Do you not agree that the series tab is now ten times better without the slow sliding panels?
I know, I know, if it ain’t broke…
The speed used to bug me but anymore I use the add by issue number which has been great so I rarely need to scroll through multiple issues unless it’s a popular title and low numbered comic. I only use the series search as a last resort.
Is there a way to move the dialog box up higher on the screen and make it longer top to bottom so it will at least show the key information without scrolling?
Yes, that should be possible.
Never by barcode?
Or the cool new cover scanning tool in the mobile app?
Awesome, thank you.
Barcode is my final last resort if I can’t find a book. I do all my work in CLZ Web, I only use the app for lookup and don’t make changes there anymore. Although I plan on doing some local comic shows next year so I may end up using the mobile app more so I can track sales.
That’s pretty slick, I’ll have to give it a try…
