Awhile ago I posted this on Reddit - asking why would this comic be worth so much (CAD pricing). It was suggested that I contact Covrprice to correct the pricing or to get more info.
They got back to me and stated that the pricing was correct.
Well, I still don’t feel like it’s correct and looking around on eBay’s sold listings, my feelings seem correct.
What are your thoughts?
A slabbed 8.5 reprint
I purchased this awhile back when I was just getting back into collecting thinking it was not a reprint. I use to collect when I was a kid (late 80’s - mid 90’s)… needless to say I was a bit rusty and excited to get back into it. (I paid around $40 CAD for this slabbed reprint)
So $350 USD is absolutely a legit sale for a slabbed 9.8 copy. A 9.8 has gone for as much as $700 back in 2022. At the time you pulled the screenshot we didn’t have any slabbed 8.5 sales in the database. As such, the system gives you the most common condition fair market value (which is the value for the 9.8). Its definitely not an ideal situation but based on averages, if there’s a condition that has the most sales data available, its more likely than many of 21 other slabbed grades that your copy will be close to the most common condition.
This book is tricky because people list it in so many different ways. As such, it is hard to auto match sales to the book in the database.
I’ve since searched out some unmatched sales in our database to apply so on the CP site you’ll see there’s some recent data for a slabbed 8.5. That data should flow through to CLZ within a few hours.
