I;m experiencing the same issue.
I saw posts on the facebook page yesterday about this. I knew patience was going to be a thing. So when I opened the app this morning and it started to optimize I just let it go. But after a couple of hours it was still going and the battery on my phone was dying rapidly. I blamed it on the network at work and shut it down.
Then I came home, made sure I was on my home network, and placed my phone on the charger.
It has been running for about 2 hours and it’s still at the ‘a’ in database. How long can I expect this to actually take. Am I at a point to just delete and reinstall the app to redownload my collection?
How do you know this? Can you show me/let me know?
In any case:
The fix update for this problem was released 6 hours ago from when I’m posting this now.
CLZ Comics v10.8.2 was approved and released. It contains a fix for the problem where the “Optimization database” process wasn’t finishing/takes a long time. The new version that was just released has a much faster conversion process and should get you through it.
Your app may have updated itself already, but, to make sure, try this:
On your device, open the App Store app.
Search “CLZ” and select your CLZ app.
Tap “Update” to update the app.
Then after updating, run the app, and it will start converting your database again. This time it should not take longer than 5-10 minutes. Keep the screen on and open on it while it does that.
So I saw the Facebook update after I posted this topic. I waited until this morning, about 10:30 am Central Standard Time. The updated version (…8.2) was available in the app store. I clicke ‘Get’ and it immediately went to the update screen and this time it says “Converting Database” instead of “Optimizing Database”. But now it’s been almost 20 minutes and it is still at the same place as the “Optimizing” went.
I feel like it’s going to be a re-load situation.
IMPORTANT: Can you tell me how you knew, the first time around, it was still in the “A” section?
IMPORTANT ^^
As for now:
I’m sorry to hear you’re still having troubles. We’ve seen users with 100k comics get through it within 30 minutes. (on my iPhone 15 Pro it’s doing it in about 10 minutes).
If you can’t get it to work I’d be happy to do the conversion FOR you, but for that I need your SQLITE file. and for THAT we need to email with you. Can you contact us through help.clz.com?
You can already send me your SQLITE file:
We need your database file from the iOS device:
To investigate this issue, I need your “CollectorzDB.sqlite” file. This is your internal database file for your CLZ app.
Use this support page to get access to the FILES on your mobile device, and find the CollectorzDB.sqlite inside your CLZ App:
Connect the device to the computer, then use the above page for macOS or Windows to actually browse the iOS device. So open the device via the method above, then click on your CLZ app there and then find the “CollectorzDB.sqlite” file.
Well, I gave it one more time.
I made sure I closed everything and did a restart on my iphone. Then I got on my network and started the process again. It appears to have worked, although it was still over 20 minutes to complete.
Thanks for all of your help, and I’m glad it finally cooperated. Have a great day!
